National 9/11 Pentagon Memorial

One hundred eighty-four memorial benches, one for each person killed at the Pentagon (125) and aboard American Airlines Flight 77 (59), each set on an age line for the year they were born, from Dana Falkenberg, three, to John D. Yamnicky, seventy-one. At a Pentagon bench the name and the Pentagon are seen together; at a Flight 77 bench, the name and the direction of the plane's approach. Families lost together are joined by a plaque at the end of the pool. The Zero Line reads SEPTEMBER 11, 2001 9:37 A.M.
