Lieutenant Colonel, United States Army, retired - and from 1991 a financial resources manager at the Defense Intelligence Agency.

He grew up in Jennings and was on the golf team at Riverview Gardens High School. He took his degree at Illinois in 1967 and went on active duty as an air defence artillery officer, left after just under two years, and came back in April 1971 for more than twenty more. He instructed ROTC at Missouri in the mid-seventies and took an MBA there in 1975, went through Command and General Staff College, and served in Germany and South Korea. He retired on the first of September 1991 with more than twenty-two years' active duty, and joined the DIA immediately.

He married Donna in June 1967; their children Wendy and Adam both went to William and Mary. Anyone who knew him could see his family was the thing that mattered most.

He liked the Smithsonian and the Mall, and would take the Metro over from the Pentagon at lunchtime just to get away and look at it. He always had a project on at home and was eager to show his daughter and her husband how it was coming.

His wife Donna, his son Adam, his daughter Wendy and her husband Derek, his mother Ruth, and his brother Kenneth.
