He was born at Muskogee to Tommie and Effie Milam, finished at Muskogee High School and took his degree at Eastern New Mexico in 1991, and was commissioned a second lieutenant.

He served as a platoon leader and executive officer in Germany, as assistant operations officer and battery commander in Korea, as a Patriot training officer for Saudi Arabian forces, and as military assistant to the Secretary of the Army for Manpower and Reserve Affairs at the Pentagon.

He married Jacqueline Link in January 2000, and they had a daughter, Myejoi, and a son, Ronald junior.

His wife Jacqueline, his daughter Myejoi and his son Ronald junior, his parents Tommie and Effie, and his brother Steven and sister Stephanie.
