Petty Officer Third Class, United States Navy, an electronics technician. Born in Houston to Andres and Carmen Caballero, known at home as Danny and to his shipmates as Cabby.
He finished at Stephen F. Austin High School in Sugar Land in May 1998 and came out of boot camp that November. He trained in electronics at Great Lakes until September 1999 and at the Fleet Training Center at Norfolk until December, and was then ordered to the Chief of Naval Operations Telecommunications Center at the Pentagon - a posting he was proud of.
He was Junior Sailor of the Year for 2000 at Naval Computer and Telecommunications Station Washington. After his tour in Washington he was looking forward to a sea assignment, and he meant to rise through the ranks.
He was twenty-one.
How they died
Killed at the Pentagon on the morning of 11 September 2001, when American Airlines flight 77 struck the western face of the building at 9:37. A hundred and twenty-five people inside and fifty-nine aboard the aircraft were killed.
