Staff Sergeant, United States Army, in the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Programs.
She was born on Montserrat and moved to St Croix at twelve, and called it home. She finished at St Croix Central High School in 1982 and went to Bennett College in North Carolina, and enlisted in July 1985 to take advantage of the Army College Fund. She kept at her education throughout and took a degree in computer information technology at Strayer.
She trained at Fort Jackson as an administrative specialist and served two overseas tours, at Frankfurt and at Camp Casey in Korea, and in Chicago and Alexandria.
She ran, read, bowled, and spent her time with her daughter Vielka, who was born in February 1995. Her family say Vielka was her life - daughter, best friend and playmate at once.
She was strong, determined, independent and strong-willed, and gave everyone she met her best.
