A city of 1.9M needs a major medical center. Origin Hospital is a full Level 1 trauma center occupying 15–25 floors of one Pillar, with satellite clinics distributed every 100 floors across the formation.

Level 1 trauma center. Helipad direct access. Specialty centers — cardiac, oncology, neuro, burn, pediatric, OB/GYN, behavioral health. 800–1,500 beds depending on regional service area. Major regional medical center embedded in the building. Sees Origin's residents, workers, visitors, and likely the Colorado Plateau region beyond.
One every 100 floors
Satellite clinics at every skybridge tier — primary care, urgent care, occupational health. A resident on floor 480 walks (or elevators) to a clinic on tier 5. Acute cases stabilize at the satellite, transport via dedicated emergency elevator to Origin Hospital.
EMS with priority elevators
Dozens of paramedic teams. Ambulance transport via dedicated emergency elevators with priority routing — patients reach Origin Hospital from anywhere in the formation in under 5 minutes. Helicopter transport from multiple helipads for external transfers.
Specialized team for the upper floors
Above floor 400, altitude effects matter for patients with cardiac/respiratory conditions. Origin EMS includes a specialized high-altitude medicine team. Apex residents may be screened for altitude tolerance; Apex visitors may be limited by exposure time. Aviation and mountaineering medicine is mature — the protocols exist, they just have not been deployed in a residential setting before.
Teaching hospital
The University of Origin's medical school's clinical years run inside Origin Hospital. Residency programs across all specialties. Faculty share appointments between school and hospital. No boundary between teaching and care. See The University.
