Turai Liato Sareno served in the Israel Defense Forces. Liato served with the Armored Corps. Liato served in the Six-Day War. Liato was 35 years old.
בן דויד וזימבול. נולד ביום ז' באייר תרצ"ב (12.5.1932) באיזמיר אשר בתורכיה. עלה לארץ בשנת 1948, לאחר שהמשפחה הגדולה התייתמה מאביה-מפרנסה. כשהגיע לארץ למד בקבוצת מעלה- החמישה. ליאטו התפרנס מתפירת-נעליים. באפריל 1949 גויס לצה"ל, גמר את השירות הסדיר שלו ובפרוץ מערכת-סיני השתתף בה. לאחר-מכן היה נקרא לדגל מדי פעם וכך היה גם כשפרצה מלחמת ששת הימים. ביום הראשון לקרבות, הוא כ"ו באייר תשכ"ז (5.6.1967), עלה עם חברו על היעד, נלחם באויב ונפל מפגיעת כדור בשיך עבדול-עזיז אשר ביהודה. הניח אשה ושלושה ילדים. הובא למנוחת-עולמים בבית-הקברות הצבאי שעל הר-הרצל בירושלים. מפקד-יחידתו כתב במכתב-התנחומים למשפחתו, "כי ליאטו חירף נפשו מתוך אומץ-לב שאין דומה לו מתוך הרגשת שליחות ויעוד של אמת".
