בן פאני ויוסף, נולד בשנת 1925 באחת הקהילות היהודיות אשר בפולין. עם בוא השואה והינתקותו מהמשפחה הצליח הנער להתחזות כנוצרי ולמצוא עבודה בהסתר אצל איכר פולני באחד הכפרים. בשנתיים אלה, כשאיימה עליו יום-יום סכנת גילוי סודו והסגרתו לידי הגרמנים, עבר למעשה הכשרה חקלאית טובה, שהקלה עליו מאוד את קליטתו בארץ, אליה הגיע מרומניה ב-30.10.1945 במסגרת "עליית-הנוער". צבי צורף לחברת-הנוער שהתחנכה בדפנה ושקד בעיקר על לימוד השפה, על השלמת ידיעותיו החקלאיות, על השכלה כללית וקליטת התרבות העברית- החלוצית. הוא עמד להתיישב התיישבות-קבע במשגב עם, אך קודם-לכן אמר למלא את חובתו להגנת המולדת בפלמ"ח והתגייס לחטיבת "יפתח". צבי השתתף בקרבות רבים ונפל במבצע "דני" בקרב לכיבוש לוד ביום ה' בתמוז תש"ח (12.7.1948). הובא למנוחת-עולמים בבית-הקברות הצבאי בנחלת יצחק.
