What Happened

בן פרידה ומאיר, נולד ביום ט"ז בסיוון תרפ"ז (16.6.1927) בתל- אביב. הוא סיים את חוק לימודיו בבית-הספר החקלאי במקווה ישראל ומשם עבר לעבוד כשותף בקבוצת "סלע" בגבעתיים, בתעשיית שיש ואבן. חבר פעיל וספורטאי מובהק באגודת "מכבי" רמת גן. בנימין היה פעיל ב"הגנה", היה בין ראשוני המתנדבים ושירת בחטיבת "אלכסנדרוני". צנוע ומסור, ומילא את חובתו בצבא כמו בחייו האזרחיים. הוא דחה את ההצעה לעבור לתפקיד אחר, כי רצה להישאר עם חבריו. במלחמת-העצמאות השתתף בקרבות רבים. בנימין נפצע קשה במבצע "דני", בקרב על דיר- טריף ליד בית-נבאלה, והובא לבית-החולים "בילינסון". שם מת מפצעיו ביום ה' בתמוז תש"ח (12.7.1948) והובא למנוחת-עולמים בבית-הקברות הצבאי בנחלת יצחק.
