What Happened

בן צפורה ומשה, נולד בחודש תמוז תרפ"ב (1922) בצ'כיה ועלה ארצה בשנת 1938. איש-עבודה ומסור בכל מאודו למלחמת- המצווה לשחרור ישראל. הצטרף ללוחמי חרות ישראל, קיבל את הכינוי "שמעון". ישראל השתתף במסדר הרשמי של לוחמי חרות ישראל, מסדר היציאה מן המחתרת טרם ההצטרפות לשורות צה"ל. במלחמת-העצמאות התגייס לצה"ל וצורף לגדוד "שריון ופשיטה" בחטיבה 8. ביום ג' בתמוז תש"ח (10.7.1948) נפל בקרב ליד שדה- התעופה בלוד. הובא למנוחת-עולמים בבית-הקברות הצבאי בנחלת יצחק. הניח אחריו אישה, פנינה ושני ילדים.
