Turai Aharon Ben-Shaul served in the Israel Defense Forces. Aharon served with the Armored Corps. Aharon served in the War of Independence. Aharon was 18 years old.

What Happened

בן שרה ויוסף, נולד ביום י"ג בשבט תר"ץ (11.2.1930) בירושלים. הוא למד בבית-ספר ובגיל צעיר החל לעבוד ולעזור למשפחה, אך לא ראה לפניו כל עתיד בעבודות עירוניות ושאיפתו היתה לצאת להכשרה חקלאית ולהתנחל על הקרקע, בתקווה שבדרך זו ייטיב יותר לעצמו ולמשפחתו. המשפחה התנגדה לכך והוא, כבן צייתן ומסור, הוסיף למשוך בעול וחזר מפעם לפעם על משאלתו הקבועה. בראשית תש"ח קיבל סוף-סוף את הסכמת המשפחה לצאת להכשרה, ובעודו מתכונן לכך ומשתדל להתקבל במקום מתאים החלו התקפות הערבים לאחר החלטת עצרת האו"ם על חלוקת הארץ. אהרן התייצב לשירות בגדוד "מוריה" בחטיבת ירושלים. השתתף בחורף תש"ח בקרבות רבים והיה חייל מסור וממושמע. ביום כ"ז באדר ב' תש"ח (7.4.1948) יצא עם תגבורת אל הקסטל, ובהגיעם לקילומטר הרביעי הותקפו על-ידי הערבים. בשעת הנסיגה התמהמה אהרן יתר על המידה להצלת הנשק שלא יפול בידי האויב, נפצע ונלקח בשבי על-ידי הערבים, ומאז נעדר. מצבה לזכרו הוקמה בבית-הקברות הצבאי הצבאי בהר-הרצל בירושלים. החלל הינו מקל''ן- חלל שמקום קבורתו לא נודע.
