בן הירש-צבי, נולד בשנת 1913 בעיר לודז', פולין. למד בבית-ספר תיכון ועם סיום לימודיו יצא לעבוד. היה מפעילי "גורדוניה". עם הכיבוש הגרמני עבר עליו סבל רב אבל הצליח לשרוד. סמוך לשחרור יצא בדרך לארץ-ישראל, אך נגזר עליו לשהות עוד שנה באיטליה מפני שהיה ממדריכי "נחם" (נוער חלוצי מאוחד) - עד שהעפיל באוניית-המעפילים "וג'ווד" בשנת 1946. בארץ עבד בבניין ובצבעות. היה חבר "הגנה" רב-ניסיון ומסור מאוד מיום בואו לארץ. במלחמת-העצמאות היה מן הראשונים שהתגייסו ליחידת התותחנים. נפל במלכיה ביום כ"ז באייר תש"ח (5.6.1948). הניח אחריו אישה, טושה. לאחר נופלו הוענקה לו דרגת סגן-ראשון (סגן). מצבה לזכרו הוקמה בבית-הקברות הצבאי בהר-הרצל בירושלים. החלל הינו מקל''ן- חלל שמקום קבורתו לא נודע.
