Segen Mishne Mahmad Sayad Ahmad served in the Israel Defense Forces. Mahmad served with the Infantry.

What Happened

בן קאסם וג'מילה. נולד בשנת 1920 בעיר מגדל שמש שבסוריה. עלה לארץ בשנת 1948. עסק בחקלאות. גויס לצה"ל ושירת בחיל השריון, הרגלים והמודיעין, ולאחר שגמר את שירותו הסדיר הצטרף לשירות-קבע. בשירות זה נפל בשעת מילוי תפקידו בפעולה מיוחדת בליל 28 בנובמבר 1956. שבועיים לפני נפלו הוענקה לו דרגת סגן-משנה. הואיל וגופתו לא הובאה לקבורה הוקמה מצבה לזכרו בבית-הקברות הצבאי בעוספיה. בנוסף, אבן לזכרו הוצבה בגן הנעדרים בבית העלמין הצבאי בהר הרצל. הניח אשה ושתי בנות. אחרי נפלו ציין אותו לשבח אלוף פיקוד-הצפון על מסירותו ואומץ-לבו במשך כל ימי שירותו בצה"ל. החלל הינו מקל''ן- חלל שמקום קבורתו לא נודע.
