בן יעקב ושרה. נולד בשנת תש"א (1941) בצנעה אשר בתימן. המשפחה עלתה לארץ בשנת 1940 ואז למד בבית ספר יסודי במדרך עוז עד שסיים את לימודיו בו. היה חבר בתנועת "הנוער העובד". לאחר מכן למד בבית ספר תיכון חקלאי (חוות לימוד) בעפולה. עבד בטרקטורים. כאשר גויס לצה"ל במאי 1959 השתייך למשטרת הגבול ועסק בשמירה בשעת שירותו הסדיר. בהיקראו היה יוצא למילואים ובמלחמת ששת הימים, ביום כ"ז באייר תשכ"ז (6.6.1967), הוא היום השני לקרבותיה, נפל בתוך המחנה כתוצאה מהתפוצצות מטוס אויב. הניח אשה בהריונה. הובא למנוחת עולמים בבית הקברות הצבאי בחיפה. תנועת המושבים הקדישה את ירחונה "תלמים" לבנים ולחברי המושבים שנפלו על הגנת המולדת במלחמת ששת הימים ובה תמונה ודברים עליו". אלישע מונצח באנדרטה לנופלי פיקוד העורף ברמלה.
