שמואל תעיזי
Shmuel "Ben Shalom" Taizi
בן חנה ושלום, נולד ביום ט"ו בטבת תרפ"ה (11.1.1925) בעדן. בשנת 1929 עלה ארצה עם הוריו והתחיל ללמוד בתלמוד-תורה בתל-אביב. הוא הצטיין בלימודים, אך לאחר מות אביו נאלץ, בשל המצב הכלכלי הדחוק בבית לעזוב את לימודיו, שכה אהבם, ולהתחיל לעבוד. שמואל התמחה במקצוע המוזאיקה. כחבר בתנועת המחתרת של לח"י, לחם בבריטים והיה עושה את כל המוטל עליו, באומרו: "מה שאומרים לך לעשות למען קרב את הגאולה - עשה, אין זה חשוב אם בעיניך זה פרט קטן או גדול". הוא קנה את לב חבריו בכנותו ובאהבתו הרבה את הבריות. בפרוץ מלחמת-העצמאות התגייס לצבא עם חבריו והיה בין אלה שהביאו נשק ומזון ללוחמי ירושלים הנצורה. הוא השתתף בקרבות על ירושלים, הועבר לשפלה ושירת ב"גדוד הקומנדו" גדוד 89 בחטיבה 8. שמואל נהרג ביום י"ג בתשרי תש"ט (16.10.1948) בבן שמן בתאונה. הובא למנוחת-עולמים בבית- הקברות הצבאי בנחלת יצחק. השאיר אחריו אישה ובת.
