Turai Moshe Mushkatel served in the Israel Defense Forces. Moshe served with the Givati Brigade. Moshe served in the War of Independence. Moshe was 34 years old.
בן שולטנה ויצחק, נולד ביום י"ב באדר תרע"ד (10.3.1914) בתורכיה. בעירו סיים בית-ספר יסודי, עבד בסנדלרות ובשעות הפנאי התמסר לנגינה ובייחוד אהב לנגן במנדולינה. היה ספורטאי וחובב כדורגל. בשנת 1942 הגיע לארץ ברכבת מתורכיה, ועבד במקצועו. היה בן מסור לאמו ודאג תמיד לפרנסתה. גם כשהשאיר אותה בתורכיה וחי בארץ, והוא כבר נשוי ואב לשני ילדים, היה שולח לה כסף ודואג לרווחתה. עם פרוץ מלחמת-העצמאות התגייס, שירת בחיל השריון ובחטיבת "גבעתי" ולחם בשורותיה במקומות שונים בארץ. ב-19.10.1948 בעת מבצע "יואב" לפריצת הדרך לנגב, השתתף עם גדודו בהתקפה על המערך המצרי בחוליקאת. בקרב זה נפצע קשה והועבר לבית-חולים ושם נפטר ביום י"ז בתשרי תש"ט (20.10.1948). הובא למנוחת-עולמים בבית-הקברות הצבאי בנחלת יצחק.
