Turai Reuven Pinhas served in the Israel Defense Forces. Reuven served with the Armored Corps. Reuven served in the War of Independence. Reuven was 20 years old.
בן שרה ובן-ציון, (מצד האם דור רביעי לר' יהודה הלוי, נציג יהודי יפו), נולד ביום י"ג בניסן תרפ"ז (15.4.1927) בבת ים. את חינוכו קיבל בבית-הספר של חברת "כל ישראל חברים". אחרי-כן למד בבית-הספר למסחר "פיטמן" בתל-אביב, ונעשה פקיד בבית- מסחר. בנערותו הצטרף לשורות "הנוער העובד", והיה פעיל שם מאוד. בשנת 1940 הצטרף לגדנ"ע ומשהתבגר הועבר לחי"ש. היה מסור לענייני הביטחון ומקובל על מפקדיו וחבריו. עם פרוץ מלחמת-העצמאות בעקבות החלטת עצרת האו"ם על חלוקת הארץ לשתי מדינות, נרתם מיד להגנת מקום מושבו, בת ים. באותו זמן התארס והוסיף לשקוד על הגנת השכונה. ביום י' בטבת תש"ח (23.12.1947), בלוותו מכונית נוסעים מבת ים לתל-אביב, והוא חמוש ברובה-ציד בלבד, נורה על-ידי צלף ערבי מג'בליה ונפצע פצעי-מוות. נקבר בבית-הקברות האזרחי בנחלת יצחק. ביום כ"ה באלול תשי"ד (23.9.1954) הועבר למנוחת-עולמים בבית-הקברות הצבאי שבמקום.
