Turai Yehuda Bahar served in the Israel Defense Forces. Yehuda served with the Armored Corps. Yehuda served in the War of Independence.

What Happened

בן רחל ושמואל, נולד בשנת 1931 בפתח תקווה שם סיים את בית- הספר העממי והחל לעבוד כעוזר ליד אביו בחנותו. כל חייו היה חבר פעיל ב"מכבי הצעיר", ובבוא המועד הצטרף עם חבריו לפלוגת החי"ש הראשונה שהתארגנה במושבה. אז לא חילקו עדיין פנקסי-חייל ולא היתה בדיקה רפואית. בחירי הנוער התכנסו ב"מגן דויד אדום" של המושבה, הסתדרו ויצאו להגנה על גבולות הארץ. יהודה שירת בחטיבת "אלכסנדרוני", השתתף בקרבות כפר יעבץ ו"המשולש". עם כניסת הלגיון הערבי ללחימה הוחמר מצבה של ירושלים והדרך אליה נותקה על-ידי מערך הלגיון בלטרון. לפריצת הדרך נערך, בליל 24-25 במאי 1948 מבצע "בן-נון א'" ובמסגרתו הוטל על גדודו לכבוש את לטרון. הכוח התוקף נתקל בכוחות אויב עדיפים ובקרב הנסיגה הקשה נפלו רבים מהלוחמים. יהודה נפל בקרב ביום י"ז באייר תש"ח (25.5.1948). ביום ט"ו בחשוון תש"ט (18.11.1948) הועבר למנוחת-עולמים בבית-הקברות הצבאי בהר- הרצל בירושלים.
