Turai Nahum Ben-Zur Kaminski served in the Israel Defense Forces. Nahum served with the Armored Corps. Nahum served in the War of Independence. Nahum was 22 years old.
בן לאה (לאוני) ושמואל-מרדכי, נולד ביום כ"ד באלול תרפ"ה (13.9.1925) בברלין, בירת גרמניה. באפריל 1932, כשנה לפני עלות הנאצים לשלטון, עלה עם הוריו ארצה, והוא בן שבע. בארץ סיים את בית-הספר העממי בכפר סבא. עבד זמן קצר במשק אביו והתחיל ללמוד ליטוש יהלומים בנתניה. אחרי תקופה קצרה יסד יחד עם מספר חברים קואופרטיב במקצוע זה בכפר סבא ועבד שם עד יום התגייסותו לצבא. היה חבר "מכבי", התעניין בספורט ובמיוחד בכדורגל, והיה חביב על חבריו. עם פרוץ מלחמת-העצמאות התייצב לשירות בחטיבת "אלכסנדרוני", הצטרף לפלוגת חי"ש בכפר סבא והתאמן בה. השתתף עם פלוגתו בכיבוש מחנה תל ליטווינסקי. עם כניסת הלגיון הערבי ללחימה, התבססו כוחותיו במערך לטרון וניתקו אל הדרך לירושלים. לפריצת הדרך נערך, בליל 25.5.1948-24, מבצע "בן-נון א'", שבמסגרתו הוטל על גדודו לכבוש את לטרון. הכוח התוקף נתקל בכוחות אויב עדיפים ונאלץ לסגת. בקרב הנסיגה הקשה נפל, ביום ט"ז באייר תש"ח (26.5.1948). ביום כ"ה בחשוון תש"י (17.11.1949) הועבר, יחד עם חבריו שנפלו בהתקפה על לטרון, למנוחת-עולמים בבית-הקברות הצבאי בהר-הרצל בירושלים.
