Turai Mordehai Siegal served in the Israel Defense Forces. Mordehai served with the Armored Corps. Mordehai served in the War of Independence.
בן דבורה ומשה, נולד בשנת 1918 ברומניה. למד בבית-ספר תיכון ובהיותו בן 12-13 הצטרף לתנועת-נוער ציונית, התמיד בה ועשה לה נפשות. השתלם במקצועו - טכנאי חשמל - ועשה הרבה למען העלייה מארץ מגוריו, שיהודיה נהנו עדיין, בתחילת מלחמת- העולם השנייה, משקט יחסי. תורו לעלייה הגיע בשנת 1941 ובהגיעו ארצה הצטרף כחבר לקיבוץ שמיר. בשנת 1945 עלו הוריו לארץ, ואז עזב את הקיבוץ כדי להיות להם לעזר. אביו נספה בתאונת-דרכים חודשיים אחרי עלייתו והבן דאג לאמו. מרדכי עבד במקצועו בחיפה וכל השנים היה חבר ה"הגנה". כשהתקרבו צבאות הגרמנים לשערי הארץ, היה מגויס מטעם המרכז להתגייסות ביישוב. למלחמת-העצמאות התגייס באפריל 1948. שירת בחי"ש תל-אביב ואחר-כך צורף לחטיבת "קריתי". הוא התאמן במחנה שרונה ונפל בגבול יפו-תל-אביב ביום כ"ג בניסן תש"ח (2.5.1948). הובא למנוחת-עולמים בבית-הקברות הצבאי בנחלת יצחק.
