What Happened

בן שלום ורחל. נולד ביום י"ט בניסן תרצ"ח (20.4.1938) בירושלים. את לימודיו סיים בבת-הספר היסודי "אבן יהושע" ולאחר-מכן עבר קורסים בשפה האנגלית בבית-הספר ברליץ. אחרי שהשתלם בענף המלונאות עבד במלון "המלך דוד". בינואר 1960 גויס לצה"ל. לאחר שחרורו היה יוצא למילואים וביום א' בכסלו תשכ"ח (3.12.1967) נפל בשעת מילוי תפקידו בכביש קליה - ען-פשחה. הניח אישה ושלושה ילדים, שהצעיר בהם היה בן חודשים מספר בלבד. הובא למנוחת-עולמים בבית-הקברות הצבאי שעל הר-הרצל בירושלים. מפקדו כתב במכתב תנחומיו לאישתו, בשמו ובשם כל המפקדים והחיילים של היחידה בזו הלשון: "עם מותו אבד ליחידה אחד מטובי חייליה. מסור ונאמן היה ליחידתו. מתוך היענות ונכונות מילא תמיד כל תפקיד שהוטל עליו, כנדרש ולמעלה מהנדרש. פעיל ויעיל היה במקצועו הצבאי. חביב ומקובל על מפקדו ועל חבריו כאחד. תכונות אלו, שהן מיטב התכונות שניתן לצפות מחייל, התבלטו בו ביתר שאת בימי הכוננות שקדמו למלחמת ששת הימים ובימי המלחמה עצמה, אשר בה לקח חלק פעל בתוך יחידתו".
