CBS sideline reporter reveals what Trey McBride said that set off angry ref in viral clip

Make New York Post a Preferred Source CBS sideline reporter Aditi Kinkhabwala shared what she heard while standing nearby a verbal altercation between Cardinals’ Trey McBride and line judge Jeff Seeman during Sunday’s 36-24 loss to the Giants.

Kinkhabwala reposted a now-viral video of a CBS camera catching Seeman appearing to tell McBride “f–k you” twice while Arizona was down by three points — and explained that the All-Pro tight end was appropriately arguing for a pass interference call in the fourth quarter.

“I was standing right there,” she wrote in an X post. “What’s wild is that it all started with Trey McBride saying ‘please’ when pleading his case for a PI flag. He was heated for sure, but I never heard a curse from him. The harshest he got was, ‘You’re ruining the game.’”

The CBS camera captured a Cardinals staffer directing McBride away from the official on the sideline at MetLife Stadium.

The two-time Pro Bowler then pointed at the CBS camera and laughed, seemingly indicating that their exchange was being recorded.

The NFL said it is reviewing the situation after JC Tretter, the executive director of the NFL Players Association, called on the league to hold Seeman accountable, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

“This kind of behavior from an official towards a player is unacceptable,” Tretter wrote on X, including the video. “Players are consistently held accountable when the roles are reversed. We expect the NFL to hold officials to the same standard.”

It is considered unsportsmanlike conduct if players use “abusive, threatening, or insulting language or gestures to opponents, teammates, officials, or representatives of the League,” per league rules.

The NFL has not shared results of its review as of Monday afternoon.

The Cardinals (1-3) host the Detroit Lions (2-2) next Sunday, while the Giants (3-1) have a NFC East clash visit the Commanders (1-3) in Washington.
