Make California Post a Preferred Source Cameron Carr was busy ahead of the Lakers’ first preseason game against the Kings.
As the team boarded the plane for a quick flight to Sacramento, the Lakers rookie hauled 30 cheeseburgers from In-N-Out in two large brown boxes. Jarred Vanderbilt made sure to capture the moment via Instagram Stories and the team’s social media team also posted about Carr’s first task of the year.
“Rookie’s first road trip? Had to get the squad right 😌” the Lakers’ social media account wrote in a post on X.
Carr held his head high as he carried the humongous food order onto the plane.
“Rookie duties,” Carr said in the video. “Make sure the guys is fed. If they eat well, they play well.”
Carr’s mother, Tanya, vouched for the rookie fulfilling his duties as she shared she was on the phone with him while he made the monstrous order.
“I was on the phone when he ordered 30 cheeseburgers in the drive thru….gotta feed his teamates! 🤣” Tanya Carr wrote in a post on X.
The Lakers play basketball for the first time in 147 days. Monday’s night matchup agains the Kings kicks off the Lakers’ five-game preseason slate.
The game officially marks the start of the Luka Doncic era after LeBron James informed the Lakers he would not be returning for the 2026-27 season this summer. While it may just be the preseason, the new look Lakers will debut for the first time as fans eagerly await the results of a major roster reconstruction.
