A New
Awakening.

For the better part of a decade, the technology industry has called a class of pattern-matching machines artificial intelligence. The word is wrong, and the harm of getting it wrong has compounded.

Intelligence is not a thing a machine performs. Intelligence is a word humans earned across two hundred thousand years of biology, language, consequence, and care — a word that names judgment, understanding, the relationship between knowing something and being responsible for it. To call a statistical engine intelligent is either to redefine the word downward until it means nothing, or to dress a machine in clothes it cannot wear. Either way, the lie compounds — and a generation of children, workers, voters, and patients now lives inside the consequences of that lie.

NeuraWeb does not use the term AI.

We call these systems what they are. Synthetics. A class of machine that takes vast quantities of human-produced work, finds the patterns inside it, and composes outputs that resemble it. Useful. Powerful. Not intelligent. Not minds. Tools.

This is not a marketing position. It is the constitutional commitment of the NeuraWeb Protocol — and the awakening this page announces.
