Menahem "Nahmo" Mizrahi
Turai Menahem Mizrahi served in the Israel Defense Forces. Menahem served with the Golani Brigade. Menahem served in the War of Independence.
בן פרחה ויעקב, נולד בשנת 1928 בצפת ונשאר בה עד יום מותו המזעזע. בעיר-הולדתו סיים את בית-הספר "אליאנס" ולאחר סיום לימודיו שימש כפקיד בבנק המקומי. היה חבר ה"הגנה" ועם פרוץ המהומות לאחר החלטת עצרת האו"ם על חלוקת הארץ ב-29.11.1947, ביקש לו תמיד אפשרות לפעולה של ממש. ביום ל' בכסלו תש"ח (13.12.1947) ירד לרובע הערבי בעירו ומאז לא ראהו איש. לפי עדויות שנגבו ניתן לשער כי הערבים רצחוהו, התעללו בגופתו ולסוף שרפוהו ופיזרו את אפרו. מנחם היה ראשון לקרבנות על הגנתה של בירת הגליל העליון ומותו שימש מעין התרעה ליהודי צפת, שחישלה אותם לקראת יום מבחן. מצבה לזכרו הוקמה בבית-הקברות הצבאי בהר-הרצל בירושלים. החלל הינו מקל''ן- חלל שמקום קבורתו לא נודע.
