Baruh "Bernardo" Akhaizer
Rav Turai Baruh Akhaizer served in the Israel Defense Forces. Baruh served with the Infantry. Baruh was 20 years old.
בן אהרן ורבקה. נולד ביום י"ד באדר תר"ץ (14.3.1930) בורשה שבפולין. כשמלאה שנה לברוך היגרה משפחתו לפרנה שבארגנטינה. מגיל צעיר שאף לעלות לארץ אך הוריו התנגדו לכך. משלא הצליח לשכנע אותם עקר בגיל ט"ז לבואנוס איירס, בה עבד והשתכר כדי דמי-הנסיעה לארץ ובשנת 1949 עלה והתגורר בבית-דודו, אשר אליו היה כותב מכתבים רוויי-כיסופים לארץ מן הגולה. הוא התאקלם מייד בבואו ובינואר 1950 גויס לצה"ל. תוך תקופה קצרה הגיע לדרגת סמל, אף היה מועמד לקורס-קצינים, אך פעולה נגד מסתננים שמה קץ לחייו הצעירים: בפעולה זו ביום י"ח בטבת תשי"א (27.12.1950) נפצע ומת מפצעיו והובא למנוחת-עולמים בבית-הקברות הצבאי בנחלת-יצחק.
