Turai Zeharya Hamadi served in the Israel Defense Forces. Zeharya served with the Armored Corps. Zeharya was 28 years old.
בן אברהם ויונה. נולד ביום כ' באדר תרפ"ח (12.3.1928) בעיר תעז שבתימן. למד שם ב"חדר" וב"ישיבה" וחונך ברוח של תורה ומצוות. בשנת 1943 עלה לארץ במסגרת "עליית-הנוער" ומייד לבואו התקשר לעבודה חקלאית בסביבות אבן-יהודה. בימי מלחמת-הקוממיות נלחם בגבורה ובעוז-נפש. לאחר-מכן חי עם הוריו בכפר-שלם ונטע גן-שושנים נחמד סמוך לביתו. תמיד שמח לעזור לזולת. השתתף במבצע קלקיליה, ולאחר-מן, בפרוץ מערכת-סיני, התיצב אף הוא עם חבריו הלוחמים. בשעת מילוי תפקידו ביום ז' בכסלו תשי"ז (11.11.1956) נפל והובא למנוחת-עולמים בבית-הקברות הצבאי בקרית-שאול. החוברת "לזכרם" הוקדשה לו ולעוד ארבעה מחבריו שנפלו באחד ממבצעי-גדודם. בשנת תשי"ז הקים אחיו בית-כנסת בשכונת "התקוה" בתל-אביב הנקרא "בית-אל על-שם זכריה חמדי ז"ל".
