Rav Turai Yichye Itzhak served in the Israel Defense Forces. Yichye served with the Infantry.
בן שלום וכדייה. נולד בשנת תרפ"א (1921) בתימן. למד רק לימודי-קודש. מצא את מחייתו בעבודת-נפחות. עלה לארץ בשנת 1949. בא לעזרתם של יתומים יהודים כאשר נעשה נסיון לאסלם אותם והוא שהצילם. השתייך לתנועת "הפועל המזרחי". שירת כמא"ז באחד הכפרים אשר בפרוזדור-ירושלים. גויס לצה"ל בספטמבר 1951. בשעת מילוי תפקידו, ביום י"ח בשבט תשי"ב (14.2.1952), נפל והובא למנוחת-עולמים בבית-הקברות הצבאי שעל הר-הרצל בירושלים. הניח אשה ושלושה ילדים.
