Turai Tufik Halabi served in the Israel Defense Forces. Tufik served with the Infantry. Tufik served in the War of Independence.
בן מוהיבה ונאיף חניזש, נולד בשנת 1927 בכפר דלית-אל-כרמל. סיים שש כיתות בבית-הספר היסודי שבכפר ובגיל צעיר החל לעזור להוריו במשקם. גדל והיה לבחור חסון והצטיין באופיו השקט והנוח לבריות. היה חקלאי בן חקלאי. שירת ביחידת המיעוטים המיוחדת לדרוזים. בעת מבצע "חירם" לשחרור הגליל המערבי לחמה היחידה תחת פיקודה של חטיבת "עודד", שפעלה בגזרה המערבית של המבצע. בליל 28-29 באוקטובר תקפו כוחותינו את תרשיחא ועל יחידת הדרוזים הוטל לכבוש את הכפר ינוח. ההתקפה על תרשיחא לא עלתה יפה ולכוחות ניתנה הוראה לסגת. יחידת הדרוזים השתלטה על ינוח, אך בשל תקלות בקשר לא קיבלה את פקודת הנסיגה. עם בוקר התאוששו כוחות קאוקג'י ובסיוע חלק מאנשי הכפר תקפו את היחידה וזו נאלצה לסגת. תופיק נאיף נפל בקרב ביום 29.10.1948 ולמחרת נקבר בשדה הקרב בינוח. ביום 30.11.1954 הועבר למנוחת-עולמים בבית-הקברות הדרוזי שבכפר עוספיה על הר- הכרמל.
