Rav Turai Reuven Azulai served in the Israel Defense Forces. Reuven served with the Armored Corps. Reuven served in the Six-Day War. Reuven was 26 years old.

What Happened

בן בנימין ואיבון. נולד ביום כ' במרחשון תש"א (21.11.1940) בעיר אריאנה אשר בטוניסיה. אחרי שראובן למד שנתיים בבית הספר התיכון "אליאנס" עלה לארץ בשנת 1956 במסגרת "עליית הנוער" והצטרף למשק מבואות ביתר אשר בקרבת ירושלים. לצה"ל גויס באוקטובר 1958 במסגרת נח"ל. עם סיום שירותו בנח"ל הצטרף לגרעין "ביתר" והתיישב במשק אמציה אשר בחבל לכיש. היה שם חבר המועצה האיזורית. בשנת 1963 עבר לגור בחולון והתחיל עובד בחברת "אייר פרנס" בשדה התעופה בלוד. תחביבו היה הספורט ובו עסק בשעות הפנאי. אך מטעם החברה נשלח לחוץ לארץ (לפריס) לשם לימודים. כאשר פרצה מלחמת ששת הימים נקרא למילואים וביחידתו היה בין הראשונים להתנדב לכל תפקיד. ביום השני לקרבות, הוא כ"ז באייר תשכ"ז (6.6.1967), נפל בקרב שנערך בדיר אל בלח אשר ברצועת עזה. הניח אשה וכשלושה חודשים לאחר מכן ילדה אשתו בן אשר נקרא דויד בתוספת רולנד (על שמו). הובא לקבורה בבית הקברות הצבאי לשעת חירום בבארי וכעבור זמן הועבר למנוחת עולמים בבית הקברות הצבאי שעל הר הרצל בירושלים.
