What Happened

בן בדרה ואברהם, נולד בשנת 1929 בגלות תימן. בשנת 1939, בהיותו בן עשר, עלה ארצה וחונך בה לעבודה ולהגנה. הוא סיים בית-ספר עממי, למד סנדלרות ועבד בה. במקום מושבו, בראשון לציון, עבד זמנית גם בחקלאות ואף שהתפרנס בדוחק עוד הפריש משכרו כדי משלוח דמי-תמיכה להוריו בגולה. בהגיע תורו לצאת לעזרת העם, שירת כנוטר בבאר יעקב ובתל ליטווינסקי. דויד היה חבר במחתרת אצ"ל ופעיל בשורותיה בזמן המאבק ובראשית מלחמת העצמאות. הוא השתתף בפעולות בצפת, ביפו וברמלה ויצא עם כוחות האצ"ל להתקפה על מנשיה, בגבול יפו. באסרו חג של פסח, כ"ב בניסן תש"ח (30.4.1948) נהרג דויד מפגיעת פצצת מרגמה. הוא הובא למנוחת-עולמים בבית-הקברות הצבאי בנחלת יצחק.
