Rav Turai Itzhak Ogen served in the Israeli Navy. Itzhak served aboard INS Dakar. Itzhak served in the War of Attrition. Itzhak was 19 years old.

What Happened

בן קרול ואנה. נולד ביום א' באדר ב' תש"ח (12.3.1948) בצרפת. בשנת 1951 עלתה המשפחה לארץ. את לימודיו היסודיים המשיך ללמוד בבית-הספר התיכון המקצועי "בסמ"ת" במגמת המסגרות המיכנית. לצה"ל גויס באוגוסט 1966 ושירת בחיל-הים. יצחק התנדב לשירות בצוללות והוסמך כצוללן ביוני 1967. יצחק יצא לאנגליה וצורף לצוות הצוללת "דקר", בה היה מכונאי מוכשר ושקדן והתקדם במהירות במקצועו. וכשזו עמדה לשוב הביתה והיתה בנתיב-הים שבין גיברלטר לחיפה נותק עמה הקשר ושוב לא נתחדש. זה היה ביום כ"ד בטבת תשכ"ח (25.1.1968). הרבנות הצבאית הראשית קבעה, כי תאריך-פטירתו של יצחק, בשעת מילוי תפקידו יחד עם השאר, הוא יום כ"ט בטבת תשכ"ח (30.1.1968). כיון שיצחק נמנה עם חברי הצוות הנעדרים הוצבה לו מצבת זיכרון בתוך האנדרטה לזכר אנשי "דקר" בבית-הקברות הצבאי שעל הר-הרצל בירושלים. ביום י"ג בסיוון תשנ"ט (28.5.1999), בתום שנים של חיפושים, נמצאה הצוללת אח"י "דקר" על קרקעית הים התיכון, בעומק 2900 מ' בנתיב הפלגתה המתוכנן ובמרחק 250 מייל מנמל חיפה. החלל הינו מקל''ן- חלל שמקום קבורתו לא נודע.
