Turai Yehuda Hayun served in the Israel Defense Forces. Yehuda served with the Infantry. Yehuda served in the War of Independence. Yehuda was 18 years old.

What Happened

בנם-בכורם של חנה ואברהם, נולד ביום כ' בשבט תר"ץ (18.2.1930) בירושלים. את ראשית חינוכו קיבל בגן ב"בית-יעקב", עבר ללמוד בבית-הספר "בית-אהרן" וגמר בהצטיינות את בית- הספר "תחכמוני" וזכה במלגת לימודים. הוא עבר ללמוד בבית- הספר התיכון בבית הכרם והצטיין במקצועות הריאליים. יהודה- חיים המשיך ללמוד על אף מצבה הקשה של המשפחה, והיה גם ספורטאי מחונן, חבר בקבוצת כדורגל של "הפועל" והשתתף בתחרויות רבות. הצטיין גם בענף הכדורסל. במשך הזמן היה גם למדריך ספורט במגרש-משחקים במקור ברוך (קבוצת מג"ל הצעירה). בסיימו את לימודיו בבית-הספר התיכון בבית הכרם התעתד ללמוד באוניברסיטה העברית, אך פרצה מלחמת-העצמאות ויהודה התגייס ולחם כחבר ה"הגנה" בגזרות שונות של ירושלים, היה בדיר-יאסין, נפצע בנוטר-דם ובשעה שטיפלו בפצעיו נפצע פצע נוסף מרסיס פגז ומת, ביום כ"א באייר תש"ח (30.5.1948). נקבר בשייח'- באדר א'. ביום כ"ח באלול תש"י (10.9.1950) הועבר למנוחת-עולמים בבית-הקברות הצבאי בהר- הרצל בירושלים.
