בן חביבה ודוד, נולד בשנת תרס"ה (1905) בבגדד שבעיראק. בתחילה עברה המשפחה להתגורר בבומביי שבהודו ושם גם רכש את השכלתו. בשנת 1935 עלתה המשפחה לארץ-ישראל והתיישבה בגבעת שאול בירושלים. באמצע מאי 1948 התגייס שלמה ושירת כחודש בגדוד 65 של יחידת חי"ם. ביום ג' בתמוז תש"ח (9.7.1948) בתום ההפוגה הראשונה, נפתחו קרבות "עשרת הימים". בשעות הצהריים הסתער כוח של הלגיון הערבי על העמדות בגזרת בית מנדלבאום בירושלים. במקום התפתח קרב עז, שנמשך עד לשעות הלילה. במהלך הקרב הזה נפל שלמה. הוא הובא לקבורה ארעית בשייח'- באדר ורק ביום כ"ג באייר תש"י (10.5.1950) הועבר למנוחת- עולמים בבית-הקברות הצבאי בהר-הרצל בירושלים. שלמה, שהיה ידוע גם בשם סידנאי דוד-שלמה, נקבר תחילה בשמו השני ורק בשנת 1991, בעקבות פניית אחייניתו ותחקיר מקיף התגלה השיבוש והמצבה תוקנה.
