Turai Leon Hoizer served in the Israel Defense Forces. Leon served with the Infantry. Leon served in the War of Independence. Leon was 20 years old.
בן ז'נטה-שיינדל ומשה, נולד ביום ז' באדר תרפ"ח (28.2.1928) בעיר גלץ, רומניה. הוא עלה לארץ בשנת 1947 והצטרף לאחד הקיבוצים, ושהה בו עד יום גיוסו. ליאון התנדב לפלמ"ח , צורף לחטיבת "הראל" ועבר להתגורר במחנה הפלמ"ח באזור ירושלים; ממחנה זה יצא לקרבות בירושלים ונטל חלק בשחרור העיר לוד. באמצע חודש יולי עמדה להיכנס לתוקפה ההפוגה השנייה ומפקדי הצבא העריכו שחובה לסלק את כוחות הלגיון הערבי בלטרון, שאיימו לנתק את הדרך לירושלים. ביום י' בתמוז תש"ח (17.7.1948) יצא ליאון לקרב עם היחידות שהשתלטו על המשלטים מעל הכפר הערבי בית נובא. בקרב זה נפל ומקום קבורתו לא נודע. בחודש פברואר 1950 נמצאה גופתו. הוא הובא למנוחת-עולמים בבית-הקברות הצבאי בהר-הרצל בירושלים. הוריו ושתי אחיותיו הגיעו לארץ לאחר נפילתו.
