Menahem "Milik" Brener
Segen Mishne Menahem Brener served in the Israel Defense Forces. Menahem served with the Infantry. Menahem was 24 years old.
בן פנחס ואודל. נולד ביום י"ב באדר תשי"ד (15.2.1954) בצ'רנוביץ שבברית-המועצות. מנחם היה בן יחיד להוריו. הוא סיים את לימודיו היסודיים והתיכוניים בברית-המועצות וביקש להמשיך ללמוד, אף שאיפתו הגדולה ביותר היתה לעלות לארץ. הוא התחיל ללמוד הנדסת-פיסיקה בלנינגראד, אבל הפסיק את לימודיו בגלל רצונו לעלות ארצה. בשנת 1974 הגיע לארץ עם הוריו, והמשפחה התיישבה ברחובות. למרות קשיי השפה וההסתגלות התקבל לטכניון והתחיל מחדש את לימודי הפיסיקה. מנחם היה בחור חברותי ועליז, בעל יחס לבבי אל כל ידידיו, ואהב לעזור לזולת. באפריל 1975 גויס לצה"ל במסגרת העתודה האקדמית. עם סיום לימודיו נשלח לקורס-קצינים. ביום כ"ז בכסלו תשל"ט (26.12.1978) נפל בתאונת אימונים, הובא למנוחת-עולמים בבית-העלמין שברחובות. השאיר אחריו הורים. במכתב-תנחומים להורים השכולים כתב מפקדו: "מנחם היה מלא מרץ, חיוניות ומסירת רבה, דבק במשימותיו, והוא רק בתחילת דרכו כצוער בקורס-קצינים".
