Turai Moshe Fishel served in the Israel Defense Forces. Moshe served with the Logistics Corps. Moshe served in the War of Independence. Moshe was 34 years old.

What Happened

בן שפרינצה וחיים-שלמה, נולד ביום י"א בכסלו תרע"ד (10.12.1913) בעיר יוזפוב, פלך לובלין, פולין. אחרי שלמד ב"חדרים" ובבית-ספר יסודי החל להתפרנס מעבודתו. נמשך לציונות מנעוריו ואחר-כך הצטרף לתנועת בית"ר. עבד בהכשרה והתכונן לעלות ארצה. כשפרצה מלחמת-העולם השנייה נמלט לאזור הכיבוש הרוסי ונשלח למחנה-עבודה בסיביר. אחרי הסכם סטלין-שיקורסקי על הקמת צבא פולני מהגולים הפולנים ברוסיה, שוחרר משם ושירת את מאמץ המלחמה באויב הנאצי המשותף. אחרי המלחמה חזר עם הפרטיזנים לפולין ושוב לא מצא את בית אביו, שהושמד עם כל שאר היהודים. משה יצא ב"נתיב-הבריחה", עבר ברוב סבל והרפתקאות דרך ארצות אירופה התיכונה ההרוסה והגיע לאיטליה. הוא העפיל ארצה באונייה "לטרון" והגיע לארץ ב-16.6.1947. עבד כפועל חקלאי ברמת השרון והיה פעיל במחתרת אצ"ל. כשפרצה מלחמת-העצמאות התגייס ושירת ביחידת-תחבורה. משה נפל על משמרתו מפליטת כדור במחנה צריפין ביום ד' בחשוון תש"ט (6.11.1948). הובא למנוחת-עולמים בבית-הקברות הצבאי בנחלת יצחק. הניח אחריו אישה, שושנה.
