Turai Itzhak Matlon served in the Israel Defense Forces. Itzhak served with the Armored Corps. Itzhak served in the War of Independence. Itzhak was 35 years old.
בן פלומבה (צפורה) ואהרן, נולד ביום י"ג באב תרע"ב (27.7.1912) בעיר סלוניקי, יוון. יצחק למד בבית-הספר האיטלקי בעיר-הולדתו ואחרי סיום לימודיו בשנת 1930 עלה ארצה, כחבר "מכבי" יוון וכמשתתף ב"מכביה" הראשונה. הודות למאמציו עלו שאר בני משפחתו אחריו. בשנת 1935 הצטרף ל"הגנה". השתתף בשמירת גבולות תל-אביב במאורעות תרצ"ו-תרצ"ט. היה מסור לתפקידו ונעים-הליכות עם חבריו. בראשית מלחמת-העצמאות, בחודש דצמבר 1947, השתתף בהגנת העיר והיה בעמדת בית-החרושת "חלזון" באזור אבו-כביר, מן הקשות בעמדות המגן של תל-אביב. ב-22.5.1948 התגייס לחטיבת "קריתי", לאחר שירות נאמן וממושך במחתרת ה"הגנה" העברית. בעת ששהה במקלט בשעת הפצצה אווירית נפצע, ומת מאובדן-דם בבית-החולים ביום כ"ז בסיוון תש"ח (4.7.1948). הובא למנוחת-עולמים בבית-הקברות הצבאי בנחלת יצחק. השאיר אחריו אישה וילד בן שלוש וחצי.
