בן רומה ויחיא, נולד בשנת תרצ"א (1931) בתימן. בבית אביו נתחנך ברוח המסורת ואהבת ציון. בהיותו בן 11 עלה ארצה עם משפחתו, שהשתקעה בפתח תקווה, ושם למד בבית-ספר יסודי. שלום היה חבר פעיל ב"מכבי-צעיר" ואחרי-כן ב"נוער-העובד". הוא גילה התעניינות בשאלות היישוב והעם. שלום נפל ביום י"ב באייר תש"ח (21.5.1948) במערכה על רמלה, והוא בן 17 בנופלו. הובא למנוחת-עולמים בבית-הקברות הצבאי בנחלת יצחק.
