The Mets have dealt left-handed starter David Peterson to the Cubs after getting swept in a doubleheader by Chicago, The Post’s Jon Heyman confirmed.
New York will receive minor league third baseman Cole Mathis as the return, The Athletic’s Will Sammon reported.
David Peterson is heading to the Cubs in a trade. Jason Szenes for The New York Post Peterson, an All-Star in 2025, has largely struggled this year in shuttling between the starting rotation and bullpen with a 6.09 ERA across 68 innings.
