Watch: Moment earthquake hits Venezuela and leaves buildings collapsed

CloseA magnitude 7.1 earthquake has struck the area of Montalbán, Venezuela, near the capital Caracas.

Video filmed by BBC reporters and contributors shows the moment the quake hit, as well as the aftermath, with buildings collapsed.

Venezuela's interior minister Diosdado Cabello confirmed that buildings were down in Caracas while talking on State TV, Reuters reported.
