CCTV footage appeared to show a jogger running along Putney Bridge and shoving the woman into the road in May 2017. The bus swerved to avoid her, meaning she was not seriously injured.
The 44-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted grievous bodily harm on Monday and then released on bail, the Metropolitan Police said.
The force previously closed its investigation after three men were arrested and later released without charge.
The footage of the incident shows a bus being forced to swerve into the lane next to them to avoid hitting the woman.
Sgt Mat Knowles said at the time: "It was only due to the superb quick reactions of the bus driver that she was not hit by the vehicle."
Detectives identified more than 50 people of interest before closing the investigation in 2018, saying that all lines of inquiry had been exhausted.
