ICE arrests illegal immigrant who killed man with pickup truck while watching YouTube on his iPad

“Although Tim will never be brought back, Gabiev’s capture will bring the justice deserved,” said Tammy Tarnowski, Tim’s widow, who was personally informed of the arrest by DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin.

Truck driver Tim Tarnowski was killed on a rural Minnesota road in his semi-truck when Gabiev ran a stop sign while watching his iPad. DHS “Our family now has closure and we can begin the healing process needed to move forward. Our hope is that this will bring light to Angel Families and will save others from going through the heartache we have endured.”

Gabiev told law enforcement that at the time of the crash, “he was listening to a program on an iPad that was teaching him how to speak English. … He claimed to not have been looking at the iPad when he was driving.”

Mullin said Gabiev “had no business” being in the US, or on America’s roadways, in the first place.

“If it weren’t for the Biden administration’s open border policies, this tragedy would never have happened, and Tim would still be alive. This is our why. President Trump and I will never stop fighting for justice for Angel Families,” Mullin said, referencing a collective of individuals who have lost loved ones at the hands of illegal immigrants.
