During the first quarter of Wednesday’s contest, the Knicks and Spurs got into a heated moment as Mitchell Robinson threw an elbow at Victor Wembanyama during a New York offensive possession.

Robinson, originally called for an offensive foul, was also given a flagrant 1 on a review by the officials.

This tense moment had basically been brewing since Game 3, as Spurs center Victor Wembanyama shoved Jalen Brunson in the back of the head during the first quarter in what was a missed foul call by the referees.

The NBA head of officiating even acknowledged as much, but Wembyanama was not assessed a flagrant foul after the fact, despite it being a dirty play in the eyes of many, including Knicks guard Jose Alvarado.

Alvarado told The Post’s Zach Braziller that there would be no more of that going forward.

San Antonio Spurs forward Victor Wembanyama (1) defends against New York Knicks center Mitchell Robinson (23) during the first quarter of Game 4. Jason Szenes for the New York Post “I think that’s not basketball,” Alvarado said on Tuesday. “That’s something that they gotta look at. But he got away with one. That’ll be the last one.”

The Knicks were at the center of multiple controversial calls — and non-calls — in the first quarter, including two fouls in the early minutes against Karl-Anthony Towns.
