Ex-Mets flamethrower Noah Syndergaard calls Zohran Mamdani a ‘lunatic’ as he advises former club to ‘stop hanging out with socialist mayors’

Ex-New York Mets flamethrower Noah Syndergaard delivered some chin music to his former club Tuesday – advising the last-place squad to “stop hanging out with socialist mayors” as he leaned into the “Curse of the Mambino.”

The retired MLB pitcher’s statement came during an interview with Outkick talk show host Tomi Lahren when she asked how the Amazins can turn it around.

“Stop hanging out with socialist mayors I guess, probably,” Syndergaard said before Lahren asked if he believed Mayor Zohran Mamdani “cursed” the Mets when he embraced Mr. Met and Mrs. Met near the start of the season.

“Something like that,” he replied. “I mean, I hate saying it but at the end of the day the Mets are gonna Met and it’s just, I think I’m allowed to kind of say that cause I’ve bled orange and blue for, I don’t know, eight years, made it to the World Series with them.

“Just kind of disappointed to see A) who they’re inviting into their clubhouse and B) like just the lack of the success that they’re having which doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. I mean they have a huge payroll and it’s not creating dividends for them.”

The Mets are 16-25 and suffered an embarrassing 12-game skid in April. The club lost 11 games in a row during that stretch after the hug between Mamdani and the team’s mascots, Mr. and Mrs. Met.
