Dolphins QB Malik Willis throws horrendous first pitch at Marlins game —and gets trolled by MLB

It wasn’t the type of throw the Dolphins had in mind.

After signing a three-year, $67.5 million contract with Miami last month, Malik Willis was invited to throw out the first pitch at the Marlins’ game on Friday.

The quarterback, who wore a custom Marlins jersey for the occasion, skied his throw over Miami infielder Graham Pauley — with even MLB taking a swipe at the 26-year-old.

“Malik Willis’ first pitch was just a bit high,’ the league’s official account wrote on X, along with a video of the moment.

NFL fans had a field day with the clip, with one saying: “No way around it, this is an absolutely awful look for QB1.”

Another joked: “Gonna be tossing Cuban sandwiches and croqueta preparadas to the safeties all season.”

The Marlins would go on to lose the game 6-5 to the Phillies.

Following some impressive performances in relief of Jordan Love, Willis has earned the chance to be an NFL starter after releasing Tua Tagovailoa.

In his last three starts for the Packers, Willis produced 612 passing yards and six total touchdowns (three rushing with no interceptions.

The 2022 third-round pick out of Liberty has 1,322 passing yards in 22 games (six starts).

He’ll look to lead the Dolphins to a bounce-back year under new head coach Jeff Hafley.
