A 19th-century Tribeca trophy duplex in a boutique building designed by Henry Fernbach is hitting the market for $5.5 million, Gimme Shelter can reveal.
The sellers are model former NBA star Miles Plumlee and Australian model Catherine McNeil, who rocked a white, risque Mônot cutout crepe gown to their City Hall marriage in 2023. The wedding reception was then held in the penthouse, listing broker Delicia “Dee Dee” Abdur-Rahmin, of Christie’s International Real Estate Group, told Gimme.
For his part, Fernbach — architect of the Big Apple’s historic Central Synagogue, in its grand, Moorish Revival style — designed the six-story retail-and-loft building at 81 Walker St. in 1869.
Plumlee bought the two-bedroom, 2.5-bath penthouse in 2018 for $5 million. It’s where the couple, who share two kids, later lived until they moved back to McNeil’s home country.
The home’s past owners include actor and producer Seth Green, whose work includes portraying Scott Evil, Dr. Evil’s son in the “Austin Powers” film series.
The 3,625-square-foot light-filled aerie spans a full floor plus an upper level.
It also features an extravagant 2,750 square feet of private outdoor space with skyline views over three separate terraces. It opens via a key-locked elevator.
Inside, there’s a large open chef’s kitchen with concrete counters and a living area framed by a wall of oversized windows.
With ceilings that soar up to 17 feet high, the floor-through duplex is permeated with an old-school loft aesthetic, featuring original details like exposed brick and wooden beams. There’s even a lofted area that McNeil used for yoga, Abdur-Rahmin said, calling it a “bonus space.”
The main bedroom suite — discreetly hidden behind a wall of bookcases — comes with a large walk-in closet and boasts an ensuite spa-like bath with heated floors.
An architectural iron staircase leads to the upper level with ceilings just below 9 feet high, where a second bedroom can serve as a guest space, a media lounge or a work space.
The fifth floor level opens to a private dining terrace.
An additional private storage unit is also included in the sale.
The building overall is home to five full-floor lofts.
