Former NYC Mayor Eric Adams granted Albanian citizenship

Jetsetting former mayor and certified weirdo Eric Adams is now a citizen of Albania.

Adams received Albanian citizenship through a special decree by the Balkan nation’s President Bajram Begaj, outlets in the country first reported.

A copy of the decree revealed that Adams – who long cultivated contacts with Albania – requested citizenship.

Adams didn’t immediately return requests for comment.

The news quickly inspired snark from X users, including one who riffed off Adams’ tendency as mayor to declare that “New York City is the (blank) of America.”

“The Eric Adams of Albania is the Eric Adams of America,” the user posted.
