Easter egg hunt horror as kids stumble across possible small human skull

Authorities in Long Beach have launched an investigation after possible human remains were found during an Easter egg hunt Sunday.

Police were called to DeForest Park on the 5900 block of De Forest Avenue at approximately 5 p.m. after a family looking for eggs found what appeared to be a small skull in the ground.

The Long Beach Police Department didn’t provide details on who made the horrifying discovery, KCBS reported.

Authorities in Long Beach have launched an investigation after possible human remains were found during an Easter egg hunt Sunday. Aerial footage obtained by Fox11 shows what appears to be a skull protruding out of the ground with authorities nearby as they clear the scene.

Family members told CBS that along with the small skull, which they think belongs to a child, there were other small bones nearby.

“At first we saw the family there, doing like an Easter egg hunt, but they were freaking out a little bit,” witness Marc Zaldana told KCBS. “I can only imagine, like for them, finding a dead, another kid. Must be tragic for them.”

“Due to the circumstances, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office is responding to the scene,” police told the outlet.

Authorities said they were unable to give an update until they get results from the medical office.

“It hurts because if it’s a child, that’s very sad,” Long Beach resident Jessica Flores told KTLA.
