Kaia Gerber emerges from grief ‘cocoon’ after weeks of ‘no appetite’ and ‘worried’ family members: report

Make Page Six a Preferred Source Kaia Gerber has emerged from her grief “cocoon” but is reportedly “still struggling” with the loss of her brother, Presley Gerber.

After the model learned of her brother’s death, she “stayed at home” with her boyfriend, actor Lewis Pullman, a source close to the family told the Daily Mail Monday.

“She had a little cocoon there with friends stopping by. She tried her best to hold it together, but she was not eating much, she had no appetite, which is hard for her as she has said in the past she suffers from ‘disordered eating,'” the source continued.

“She was in total shock so it was a big emotional process just to come to the realization that she would never see her brother again. Everyone in the family is worried about her.”

Kaia was spotted out for the first time on Sunday, leaving a Los Angeles gym. The insider told the outlet that the Shards’ actress did so because of encouragement from her mom, Cindy Crawford.

“She also has not cut her hair or done her nails, and she has been in sweats the whole time. Her mom has encouraged her to keep a routine going to help deal with grief.”

While Kaia was grieving, the source said she heavily leaned on those close to her, including her mom, Pullman and her dad, Rande Gerber.

“Cindy and Rande have really been there for Kaia, as has George [Clooney],” they said. “They are bending over backwards to make sure she is OK.”

The “Palm Royale” star has also reportedly been relying on her close friend and influencer Jake Shane, who was seen at Kaia’s house following the loss of Presley helping her find her escaped cat.

With the support of her loved ones, the source told the Daily Mail that Kaia is expected to return to work soon, starring alongside her boyfriend in the upcoming James Morosini written and directed thriller, “Bulls.”

Filming is slated to start by the end of the year, with costume fittings as early as next month, per the insider.

“It’s a good thing her boyfriend Lewis, who is her ‘rock’ these days, is her co-star so he can look after her, they are closer than ever,” they said, noting that Kaia “cannot back out” of the project, “but they can push the dates out a bit.”

A rep for Kaia didn’t immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.

As Page Six previously reported, Kaia’s only sibling died in a bedroom at a Santa Monica rehab facility on Sept. 20. He was 27.

According to 911 audio obtained by Page Six, Presley was treated for a suspected “overdose” after going into cardiac arrest. An official cause of death has not yet been cited.

Presley had checked into Resolutions Living’s $7.7 million luxurious rehabilitation home for treatment the same weekend he was pronounced dead, and was under the influence of a substance when he arrived there.

At the treatment center, Presley was reportedly prescribed ketamine by a doctor — despite having a “regular problem” with the drug.

Shortly after Presley’s passing, a source exclusively told Page Six about the close bond he and Kaia shared.

“Kaia and Presley were insanely close. I don’t know how she’s going to go on without him,” they told us.

“They were way more than brother and sister,” the insider added. “She is heartbroken. They were like best friends.”
